Welcome to Mr. Bergert's Graphic Design/Art page!Hello! My name is Chris Bergert and I am one of the Art teachers at Canton South High School. This will be my 21st year teaching in Canton Local. I teach A.P. Art, Senior Art, Painting, Digital Photography and our CTE Graphic Design Programs I & II.
Our goal as an Art department is to encourage students to think creatively through and about the Visual Arts. We are very proud of the quality of learning and artwork that happens while in one of Canton South's Art classes. We consistently produce award winning artwork and many of our students go on to be accepted at various colleges and universities for art. Our Visual Arts program is designed to meet the needs and interests of students. From painting and sculpture to photography and computer graphics, there is something for everyone at Canton South High School. If you have any questions, please email me at [email protected]. CTE Graphic Design "You took me, a kid who just liked sports, hip-hop, and sneakers, and got me into the best design school in the world." Trey, CS Graduate 2017 Graphic & Visual Design I- CT5201 (Junior Level) The graphic arts influence how we view the world using colors, illustrations, photos and fonts. The visual and graphic arts program integrates traditional art skills and concept development with new technologies and platforms. Students will broaden their understanding of such topics as composition, effective use of images, the elements and principles of art, and typography. Course content provides the opportunity to acquire marketable skills by developing leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. Content also covers skill and knowledge in graphic design, digital photography, page composition, image conversion, and digital printing. Graphic & Visual Design II-CT5202 (Senior Level) Today’s graphic designer must be well versed in concept design, creative problem solving, imagery, technical production and publishing. Through Level II, senior students will be challenged to meet the demands of the graphic design industry through real world experience.
